    Group Theory

    if G is a cyclic group of order n, and H a subgroup of order d then for x in G does x divide d
    i mean the absolute value of x.

    You mean to ask does the order of x divide d?

    No, say G = Z_7 and H = {0} and x=1.
    Then ord(x) = 7 but 7 does not divide 1.
