    Distance from a point to the line

    Find the distance form the point P= (1,1,6) to the line
    x= 1+t
    y=3-t
    z=2t

    This isn't a question about circles or using a circle to get to the answer, so please only using linear algebra rules and formulas. Thanks

    \displaystyle <1,1,6> \ u=<1,-1,2> \ PQ<0,2,6>

    \displaystyle \frac{\begin{bmatrix}<br />
i & j & k\\ <br />
0 & 2 & 6\\ <br />
1 & -1 & 2<br />
\end{bmatrix}}{||u||}
