    Row indexing

Has someone ever seen in literature indicating the row of a matrix with the index on the left side?

I mean, the column i of a matrix A is indicated with a_i

With this (universal) notation the row j of A can be indicated as ((A^T)_j)^T

    That's cumbersome.

So the question: has anyone ever seen in literature indicating the row j of A as _{_j}a

If yes, pls tell me where, which text. Thank you.

I've never seen it, but I suppose you can do whatever you want, as long as you are clear about what your notation means.

Is denoting the i-th column by a_i really all that universal? I often see rows denoted that way, just depends on the author, or the context, etc..
