Which parts are you having problems with?
At least show some effort. What does "$\displaystyle \{v_1, v_2\}$" mean? Is it the span of the two vectors?

Later in the problem, they consider $\displaystyle \text{span}\{v_1, v_2\}$, so $\displaystyle \{v_1, v_2\}$ is probably just the set consisting of $\displaystyle v_1$ and $\displaystyle v_2$.
