A company make 3 chocolate candies: cherry, almond, and raisin. Matrix A gives the number of units of each ingredient in each type of candy in one batch. Matrix B gives the cost of each ingredient(dollars per unit) from suppliers X and Y. What is the total cost of 100 batches from supplier X?
sugar choc milk
A=
4 6 1 cherry
5 3 1 almond
3 3 1 raisin
B
X Y
3 2 sugar
3 4 choc
2 2 milk
So the equation I have looks like this....
[A] x [X] x 100 so...
4 6 1 3 = 12+18+2=32 32
5 3 1 x 3 = 15+9+2=26 = 26 x 100
3 3 1 2 = 9+9+2=20 20
when I multiply thru I get 3200, 2600, 2000. These add up to $7800. I am not comfortable with this answer because i dont remember adding up 3x1 matrices like this in class. This is pretty new to me and any help is appreciated
