    eigenvalues

    find the eigenvalues of the linear transfromation L:R^2x2-->R^2x2 defined by L(A)=A^T + A


    i get the whole obtaining eigenvalue process but i'm not sure how to get the matrix of linear transformation? help please

    Were you given A or do you have to find eigenvalues from a general sense?

    Ok, make A = \left(\begin{array}{cc}a&b\\c&d\end{array}\right)

    Now can you find A^T ?
