How do i factor this
in the exam today I had to find the value of x when

$x^3 - 19x - 54 = 0$

I lost 10 marks just because i did not know how to do it, is there a general method for it?

You can use synthetic division; however, I don't think this thread belongs in Linear and Abstract Algebra.

It doesn't factorise. You must have been expected to use technology to solve it for you.
