    Subspace concept

I am trying to understand how to determine if a matrix is a subspace of a set. I am really confused.
For example: the set of all n x n singular matrices. How can I determine if it is a subspace of M sub(n x n) with standard operations.

    Thank you.

What are the conditions for a subspace?

Determine if the subset of matrix nxn is a subspace of matrix nxn if the subset is the set of all n x n singular matrices.
