I've been working on this for about 20 min. and cannot figure it out. please help.
A cashier has only one dollar, five dollar and ten dollar bills in her cash drawer. she has 3 times as many fives as tens and has 5 times as many ones as fives. if she has a total of $440 in the drawer, set up and solve an equation to find the number of each kind of bill in the drawer.

She has a lot more fives and ones than tens, so let x be the number of tens. She has 3 times as many fives as tens, so she has 3x fives.Quote:
