    generate the set of polynomials

    Dose the set S= {v1, v2} generate the set of polynomials of degree
    less than or equal to two (p1)
    Where v1=x+2 and v1=x˛+1? Justify˛!

    No, because the vector space of polynomials of degree less than or equal to two is a three-dimensional vector space and you've only got two vectors there.
