hey i was having trouble with this problem, I got an answer, but im not sure if its right...could you look over it and tell me please? Thanks so much!

A boy rode his bicycle to the repair shop and then walked home. The boy averaged 14mph riding to the shop and 3.5mph walking home. The round trip took 1 hour. How far is it between the boy's house and the shop?

I got 2.8 miles... is it right? Thanks! :confused:

Well, you can check easily enough: 2.8 miles at 14 miles per hour takes 2.8/14 = 0.2 hours; 2.8 miles at 3.5 mile per hour takes 2.8/3.5 = 0.8 hours: total 1 hour as required!
