1. ## a question about inequalities

Hi.

I'm at the last step of a question and I'm wondering how to solve for the inequality:

(t-3)(t-2)>0

I know that there is some method to figure out if t is within or beyond the interval [2,3], but I was never taught it.

What is the system to solve this, and what is it called?

Thank you in advanced for taking a look at this question!

HI

YOu can use the graphical method . In this case , it will be a parabola opening upwards (since its leading coefficient is >0 ) and it intersects the x-axis at 2 and 3 . Since the inequality is >0 , so the solution would be the top part of the graph ie t<2 or t>3 .

3. oh okay, thank you.

i was wondering, is there any algebraic method of solving this?
