What does V = C([0,1]) mean?
If $V$ is a vector space, what does $C([0,1])$ mean? I am aware that $[0,1]$ is the compact set on the real line between 0 and 1, but what about the $C(.)$?

It usually means the space of all continuous functions on that interval.
