What "types" are there? The difficulty with you not showing any attempt at all is that we don't know what "types" of transformations you have learned or what methods you have for working with transformations.

I would be inclined to write the matrix representing the transformation and look at the determinant. Or would it be sufficient to determine whether or not this is a "linear" transformation? Is that what you mean by "type"?
