    Dimension of a subspace

    Find a basis of the subspace of R^4 defined by the equation
    2(x1)-(x2)+2(x3)+4(x4)=0

    Since you can choose freely x1,x2,x3 and then x4 is uniquely determined, choose values for x1,x2,x3 that'll give you three lin. independent vectors.
