Thread: weird question

ok so if a vector is say a= (1,2,3) does that mean x= 1 y=2 z= 3

etc...

so why is it written as
[1
2
3]

and not as [1 2 3]

solving for a linear combination?

i guess what im trying to ask is.. why for some all the x's y's and z's are written with the x's in a column all they ys in a column.. etc


but for other its written the x, y and z all in a column and not in a row...

does that make sense?
